2021 Hearthstone Builder Humanitarian Award

It’s our honor to announce Ed Burr of GreenPointe Holdings and Founder and Board Chairman of the Monique Burr Foundation for Children (MBF) as the recipient of the 2021 Hearthstone BUILDER Humanitarian Award! Through the Hearthstone Foundation, MBF has received $138,000 in recognition of Ed as this year’s honoree, from many generous donors.

Although National Child Abuse Prevention Month (April) has concluded, our work to protect children from abuse is not done. Given that some of MBF’s fundraising efforts were canceled due to Covid this past year, we greatly appreciate the support of the donations raised. These contributions will help MBF continue to reach children and teens all over the U.S. with prevention education programs that help protect them from child abuse, bullying, and other types of child victimization.

MBF Prevention Education Programs, including MBF Child Safety Matters® for elementary schools, MBF Teen Safety Matters® for middle and high schools, MBF Athlete Safety Matters® for youth athletes, and MBF After-School Safety Matters® for after-school and youth-serving organizations, are evidence-based/evidence-informed primary prevention programs. They educate and empower children and adults with information and strategies to prevent, recognize and respond appropriately to abuse, bullying, cyberbullying, digital dangers, exploitation, and human trafficking. More than 5,000 facilitators have delivered MBF Programs to over 5 million students throughout the U.S. and in 5 additional countries.

MBF believes every child deserves to be safe! With your support, we will continue to work toward the goal of protecting every child.  Please join us as we celebrate Ed and continue the great work of MBF in protecting all of America’s children.

What They're Saying...

There’s not a child in the world who can’t benefit from this program. There are so many instances where we see children who have been damaged and hurt. Things happened to them and we think, if they’d only had this program, if they’d only had the benefit of this education, that might not have happened to them. If we can prevent that from happening to a single child, then it’s worth all the effort we have put forth.

I heard about the program through my son. He came home…and showed me the safety rules. I cannot thank the Foundation enough; to have other people who are also concerned about my child’s safety and the safety of other kids is wonderful. I especially like the program’s focus on the prevention side.

The MBF Child Safety Matters program is impressive. This important information is well formulated and well presented, developmentally appropriate, and based on good understanding of literature.
