MBF Nearpod Lessons, provided by the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, were developed to be a lesson delivery alternative using the learning platform, Nearpod.
Nearpod is a free online platform that helps our facilitators make virtual and remote MBF lessons interactive. With Nearpod, students will be able to access lessons and interact throughout the presentations on their individual devices using their web browser and a video conferencing platform, such as Zoom, Google Classroom, or Microsoft Teams. Nearpod allows students to interact with the media (such as quiz’s, polls, videos, collaborative boards, and more) as the lessons are presented by a Facilitator.
Currently, Nearpod lessons are available for MBF Teen Safety Matters® – Middle and High School (6th, 7th, 8th, and 9-12th grades). Additional grade-level lessons will be available soon.
If you have an active subscription to the MBF Teen Safety Matters Middle School curriculum, you can access the Nearpod lessons now. Please visit the Facilitator Portal to access Nearpod lessons and MBF Nearpod Instructions.
If you do not have an active MBF Teen Safety Matters subscription, you will be able to register for immediate access to the MBF Nearpod Lessons after you have placed an order for 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9-12th grade materials. To place an order, click SHOP or reach out to us at [email protected] or 904-642-0210.
I heard about the program through my son. He came home…and showed me the safety rules. I cannot thank the Foundation enough; to have other people who are also concerned about my child’s safety and the safety of other kids is wonderful. I especially like the program’s focus on the prevention side.
The MBF Teen Safety Matters curriculum hosts an in-depth approach to important social and safety concerns relevant to youth. The program content is age-appropriate with engaging activities, jargon, and realistic situations to positively promote a relatable and impacting learning experience…Teen Safety Matters is an educational benefit to all parties involved – students, parents, facilitators, and schools.
There’s not a child in the world who can’t benefit from this program. There are so many instances where we see children who have been damaged and hurt. Things happened to them and we think, if they’d only had this program, if they’d only had the benefit of this education, that might not have happened to them. If we can prevent that from happening to a single child, then it’s worth all the effort we have put forth.
